The 2022 ALPMA Summit Reaching New Heights was held from August 31st to September 2nd at the beautiful RACV Royal Pines, Gold Coast. Delegates and partners were treated to the return of the most prominent legal management conference in the Southern Hemisphere.
Given the events of the past two years, and the inevitable postponement of our 2020 and 2021 Summits, this year we embraced the opportunity to completely reimagine the delivery of our annual flagship event. This year was something quite different with a pre-arrival Corporate Golf Day in the afternoon of Tuesday 30 August, followed in the evening by a Welcome Back Cocktail Function for delegates hosted by Principal Partner, Dye & Durham. From Wednesday to Friday delegates were treated to three days of workshops, seminars, motivational speakers, well-being sessions and working groups all focusing on legal practice management fundamentals. To compliment the learning and development program, delegates also had the opportunity to meet with and hear from over 40 legal industry partners & suppliers and enjoy a full program of networking and social activities, including the ALPMA Awards dinner on Thursday night.
We were delighted to reconnect with all our members and partners after so long and we are confident it was the Best. Summit. Ever.
We were excited to take advantage of the impressive range of facilities and onsite areas within the RACV Royal Pines Resort. From Golf Days to casual food truck dining, to hosted networking breakfasts around the Resort, this Summit delivered a unique and memorable experience for delegates.

Program
The Summit program offered over 25 sessions to attend across 3 days, including workshops, seminars and panel discussions covering: HR, Marketing, Business Development, IT/Legal Technology, Strategy & Innovation, Operations, Finance, and Leadership.
At the core of our planning is our desire to reconnect our members, colleagues, partners and industry professionals at this three-day in-person Summit on the Gold Coast. The ALPMA 2022 Summit program featured keynote speakers, workshops, plenary concurrent sessions, panel discussions, and a well-being session.
ALPMA Awards
The ALPMA Awards shine a light on the outstanding achievement and service of allied legal professionals in management or leadership roles.
Winners were announced at the 2022 ALPMA Summit Awards dinner at Miami Marketta on Thursday, 1st September 2022.

Executive of the Year
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement as a Leader at the c-suite or executive level. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference, in a strategic sense, to their workplace in terms of impact and effectiveness and is seen as a leader among their peers
General Manager of the Year
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement at the GM or Director level. Submissions for Practice Manager/Director level roles for firms of more than 25 staff also accepted in this category. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference, in a strategic and operational sense, to their workplace in terms of impact and effectiveness, and is seen as a leader among their peers.
Practice Manager of the Year
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement of a Practice Manager at a firm of less than 25 staff. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference, in a strategic and operational sense, to their workplace in terms of impact and effectiveness, and is seen as a leader among their peers.
Future Leader Award
Recognises emerging leadership and management talent. This award is presented to an emerging leader who can best demonstrate leadership courage & influence, inspiring dedication & motivation and is recognised as having the most potential to succeed as the next generation of firm leaders.
Outstanding General Contribution
This award recognises those that make a valuable contribution to their firm or the legal industry. This award is presented to an individual who strives in their role as an allied legal professional to inspire others, shows dedication and motivation and goes above and beyond in their role as either as a manager or leader or other role within their firm.
Manager of the Year
Excellence in Business Development and Marketing
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement of a leader in BD and Marketing excellence. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference to both the BD & Marketing operation in their workplace and the firm as a whole in terms of impact and effectiveness, and is seen as a leader among their peers in BD and Marketing.
Excellence in People and Culture
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement of a leader in people and culture. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference to both the people & culture programs and operation in their workplace and the firm as a whole in terms of impact and effectiveness and is seen as a leader among their peers in people and culture.
Excellence in Technology & Innovation
Recognises excellence and outstanding achievement of a leader in technology and innovation. This award is presented to an outstanding leader who has made a real difference to both the technology and innovation programs and operation in their workplace and the firm as a whole in terms of impact and effectiveness and is seen as a leader among their peers in technology and innovation.
ALPMA Volunteer Awards
Along with recognising leadership talent within the legal community, ALPMA awards that recognise the outstanding commitment of ALPMA members for their dedication to the promotion of ALPMA to the broader legal community, service for a particular project or committee responsibility and/or their continuous and ongoing consistent support to ALPMA.
