The ALPMA Legal Practice Management Learning & Development Framework outlines the key ‘pillars’ of knowledge that legal practice managers and law firm leaders need to understand in order to effectively manage and lead their firms.  All our events, programs and resources (including the ALPMA website) are designed to deliver content aligned to this framework.

 

Practice Management Seminars                                          Find a Seminar

ALPMA’s well-respected and popular practice management seminars enhance the skills and professional knowledge of managers and lawyers with management responsibility at law firms and legal departments – and provide a great forum for networking amongst our close-knit community.  Free for our members, these seminars are held regularly at lunchtime in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.
  
Seminars cover topical subjects spanning ALPMA’s Legal Practice Management Learning and Development Framework, presented by dynamic speakers with deep subject matter expertise and extensive legal industry experience. Typically attracting between 30 and 100 attendees (depending on topic and location) our seminars run for 1.5 hours commencing with 30 minutes of networking followed by the guest speaker presentation. 

Eligible non-members can purchase tickets to attend. ALPMA Corporate Partners are the only vendors able to attend our Practice Management Seminars.

Our seminars are recorded live and available free to members to view in the ALPMA On-Demand Learning Centre. Some seminars are also available for purchase by non-members.

Our Webinars are scheduled to take place each month and are designed to meet the practice management professional development needs of leaders in law firms in Australia and New Zealand. At ALPMA, we recognise that firms face specific operating challenges, compounded by the changing legal landscape - and our webinars provide you with a convenient way of gaining practical, hands-on advice and strategies to help you ensure your firm thrives and prospers. 

Our Webinar program includes a series of eight lunchtime webinars (AEST) where expert speakers are broadcast live online via Zoom and cover topics within our L&D Framework.

Participation in Webinars is free for ALPMA members and $99 (including GST) for eligible non-members.

The ALPMA On Demand Learning Centre contains a library of live recordings from ALPMA's practice management seminars and webinars, and our annual legal management Summit, so you can access practical advice from leading legal industry and subject-matter experts to help you manage and lead your firm or legal department on-demand, from anywhere. 

ALPMA members have free access to all the recordings from our practice management seminar and webinar program and receive a discount on Summit On-Demand recordings. Some event recordings are also available for non-members to view for a small fee.

The ALPMA Summit is the premier event in the Australasian legal management calendar, bringing together senior legal management professionals and law firm leaders, with world-class industry and subject-matter experts and the leading industry suppliers for an intensive two days of professional development and networking.  

Each year we recorded most Summit sessions live and then make them available for purchase in the ALPMA On Demand Learning Centre. 

In 2019, Summit delegates will enjoy free access to all concurrent seminars after Summit.
