In this webinar, Aitken Legal’s Special Counsel and Accredited Workplace Relations Specialist, Hamish Procter, will discuss matters relating to Employment Law and the end of year period.
End of year Tips and Traps. As we approach the final quarter of the year, many workplaces turn their attention to Christmas celebrations and planning for the holiday season. While it’s a time to reflect on achievements and celebrate, it can also present unique challenges for employers. Christmas parties present a number of risks to employers that are too often only thought about after the event. In addition, employers are often unsure as to what they can and cannot do in respect of requiring employees to take leave over the Christmas break.
This webinar will provide employers with practical guidance on preparing for the festive season while minimising risks.
We will cover:·
- Christmas parties - what you can do to prepare for a successful party and how you can minimise your risk of a claim arising out of the event·
- Business shutdowns - when you can or cannot direct employees to take annual leave (or unpaid leave) over Christmas·
- Lessons from the cases
Who should attend:
- Practice Managers
- HR Managers
- General Managers
- Managing Principals / Partners
This seminar will be recorded and made available in our On Demand library after the live event.
