David Bowles, Queensland Law Society
Anyone familiar with insurance companies know that they like to get their umbrellas back when it rains.
In cyber-world (if nowhere else) it is raining hard, and all law firms need to ensure that they understand measures needed to maintain full cover. In addition, other stakeholders impose sanctions if basic requirements are not met. Join David Bowles from the QLS Ethics Centre for an overview of the various requirements from organisations like Chubb, Lexon, ARNECC, Pexa, Sympli and the PCI-DSS.
Special Counsel, QLS Ethics and Practice Centre at Queensland Law Society
David was admitted as a solicitor in 1996 and practiced as a sole practitioner focusing on crime, property, litigation and estate planning.
David joined Queensland Law Society’s Ethics and Practice Centre in November 2012. As an ethics solicitor he is responsible for providing ethical guidance to QLS members, and continuing legal education.
He holds postgraduate certificates in cybersecurity from Harvard University Extension School, in Project Management from the University of Adelaide EdX program and is a Director of the Australasian Computer Law Institute.
