From Awareness to Influence: Harnessing Emotional Intelligence to Lead in Legal Practice
Emotional intelligence is a critical capability for leaders in today’s legal environment. This 60-minute session, facilitated by Trudy MacDonald, explores how developing self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation enables leaders to navigate pressure, influence others, and lead high-performing teams.

In legal practice, where professionals are balancing client demands, billable pressures, and team responsibilities, the ability to manage both personal responses and interpersonal dynamics is essential. This session focuses on how emotional intelligence strengthens leadership impact, supports the development of others, and enhances working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Participants will:

  • Understand the link between emotional intelligence and effective leadership in a legal context.
  • Learn how to apply emotional intelligence to influence others, build trust, and strengthen working relationships.
  • Explore strategies for leading self (self-awareness, self-management) and leading others (influence, empathy, relationship management).
  • Gain practical tools for navigating pressure, managing challenging situations, and responding with intention.

By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to lead with greater clarity, strengthen their influence, and create more effective and connected teams within their practice.

This webinar will be recorded and made available in our On Demand library after the live event.
