The ALPMA Summit features the largest legal management trade exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 50+ market-leading vendors showcasing the latest products, services and technologies for the legal sector. The trade exhibition opens its doors at 3.30pm on Wednesday 13 September - and everyone (regardless of whether you are coming to Summit)  is welcome to visit our exhibitors on Wednesday for free.

2017 Call for Abstracts - NOW OPEN!

Would you (or your practice) like to feature in the 2017 ALPMA Summit program, sharing your experience with ALPMA Summit delegates to help them reach their full potential and advance their organisations?

The Program Committee seeks abstracts that address one (or more) of ALPMA’s Legal Practice Management Learning & Development Framework Pillars. All abstracts will be considered, however we encourage you to submit your original unpublished abstract(s), which also reflect the 2017 Summit theme, Sailing the 4C’s and sub-themes which address 21st Century learning and working:
•    Communication
•    Collaboration
•    Critical Thinking
•    Creativity
How to Submit a Proposal
Proposals are to be submitted online before 26 February 2017. Guidelines and a template are provided during the submission process.

Summit Live & On-Demand

Summit Live: ALPMA broadcasts Summit presentations live, which means you can watch the fantastic line-up of Summit speakers live and online - as they present at Summit. You can interact with speakers, posting your questions for speakers on Twitter (#ALPMASummit) or via our Livestream platform. All you need to view the Summit live broadcast is a computer, tablet or smartphone and an internet connection. 

Summit On-Demand: ALPMA video recorded presentations from the 2016 ALPMA Summit and they are available for you to watch on-demand after Summit, thanks to our partner BigHand. For Summit delegates, this means you can re-play your favourite Summit sessions when you get back to the office and share the insights you gained with other members of your team.  For those who did not attend, you can experience and share these brilliant presentations on-demand.  

Thought Leadership Awards

The 2017 ALPMA/LexisNexis Legal Industry Thought Leadership Awards will be presented at the Summit Gala dinner on Thursday 14 September, 2017.  

A ticket to this fabulous evening is included with your Summit registration.  You can also purchase additional tickets when registering.

These Awards shine a light on innovative projects and new initiatives being conducted by firms across the legal sector in response to the changing legal landscape and provide recognition for firms and legal departments who have successfully implemented innovative projects and strategic initiatives in response to the challenges facing the Australasian legal industry. 

Nominations for the 2017 ALPMA Thought Leadership Awards will open in mid-2017.

Master Class Workshops

In 2016, there were two optional half-day pre-Summit Master Class Workshops, held concurrently on Wednesday 7 September. 

  • Legal Innovation for Small Firm Teams, presented by Therese Linton, Managing Director, The BASALT Group. Attend this workshop to learn how to implement legal project management at your firm.

  • A Process of Change and the Leader's Role, presented by Steve Wingert, Principal, Nesso Strategies. Attend this workshop to learn how to successfully lead change at your firm.

Each workshop costs $395 (including GST) for ALPMA members or $495 (incl GST) for eligible non-members.
