Overview: We all have unconscious bias in decision making. The problem is that we don’t know where our unconscious bias lies. Unchecked unconscious bias at work could be detrimental to your firm.
Recruitment and promotion are two areas in law firms where the negative impacts of unconscious bias can be seen, and in particular towards female lawyers and those in management roles.
Diversity is a key agenda for many law firms today, but many are failing to put it into practice. This is despite research that continually shows diversity benefits the bottom line.
Amanda Ferguson and Melissa Penfold from Hudson’s talent management team will discuss the hidden flaw that lie in all of us, how to bridge the unconscious bias gap and how to break the cycle of bias in your firm and limit its effects on your decision making and leadership.
