All members are expected to observe the highest standards of ethical behaviour both within their employer firms and the wider business community generally.

This code will be the basis by which a member’s conduct may be reviewed.

All members are obliged to avoid any activities that may damage their professional reputation and integrity. For example, engaging in activities where a conflict of interest is present, the acceptance of offers of hospitality or gifts that may compromise impartiality, engaging in or condoning dishonesty or convicted of an indictable offence or discriminatory employment practices.

Competence

All members will ensure they maintain appropriate levels of professional competence and enhance existing skills through ongoing professional education and training to ensure the diligent and competent completion of responsible tasks. Professional Responsibility

Confidentiality

No member will disclose any confidential information acquired by way of conversation, whilst attending an ALPMA function, seminar or event except when legally obliged to do so. This restriction continues to apply whether or not membership is maintained or renewed.

Unethical Behaviour

 Testimonials

“ALPMA has provided me with an excellent service which is tailored to the needs of managing a law firm. They have succeeded in creating sessions which are specific and relevant to the particular administration of legal service. I have found the sessions to be extremely beneficial and find it a great network to speak about issues that arise from time to time.”

“Membership of ALPMA has proven to be an invaluable resource for me over the past 10 years. Having previously managed professional services firms in other industries, the educational and networking opportunities accelerated my knowledge of the legal industry. The exposure to management and technical issues through regular seminars and particularly at the annual summit, and the opportunity to interact with colleagues, has benefited me as an individual and the firm. I would strongly recommend membership to anyone involved in the management of law firms.”

“I joined ALPMA to meet people and keep up with changes in the legal community.

I find the presentations both informative and relevant to what is happening with legislation changes and how others manage their legal practices.”
