Meet Geoff O'Driscoll

Rockhampton born and bred, spent last 2 years of schooling at Nudgee College.
 
Commenced articles of clerkship at Rees R & Sydney Jones  Jones [ Queenslands oldest law firm ] in 1976 and was admitted in 1981 Practiced in Commercial Law with an interest in management and marketing until 1995.Built up a large practice in Commercial leasing , Bank securities and commercial conveyancing.
Appointed full time managing / marketing partner in 1995 and has held that position ever since.
 
The firm has been a member of the Law Australasia group since  the early 1990s and Geoff has been an active participant in the group particularly on issues dealing with marketing and management.
He has been requested on regular ocasions to visit other firms within the group to advise on practice management .
 
He has given his presentation on time , file and people managment [ The big rocks ] to the 2008 Law Australia conference on Hayman Island and at several of the firms throughout Australia on an individual basis.

Geoff has spoken on managing a legal firm to The Qld Law Society symposium at the Gold Coast , at an APPLA state conference and at Central Qld law association conferences.
 
He is very focussed on systems and knowledge management. He believes that managing partners should know exactly what is happening within their firms at any given time.
A lot of his time is spent in mentoring junior lawyers through to partners to ascertain exactly what they are doing and get behind the ' i am such a busy lawyer smokescreens '
 
Played Rugby union in central queensland for 10 years including selection in QLD U19 and QLD Country teams.

He has 4 children and is a mad keen fisherman, mud crabber and gourmet cook. He engages in these pastimes every weekend and on holidays.

He has been an active fundraiser for community groups over many years including Life Education , Surf Lifesaving and Schools .
